Pot Luck Meetings. First one of the Year: 6/2/11
Greetings all,
Baronial Sunday is coming up on the 6th of February as usual.
Not so usual will be a gold coin donation.
The hire of the hall is $50 from 2-6pm. Every extra hour is $10.
Estimating that Pot luck will be from 6-8pm it will cost us $20 extra,
and hopefully gold coin donation will cover that. This will be on top
of patronage/ $5 for the day.
Cover for this extra time will not be coming from the baronial coffers
so if not met nor successful we may have to re-think having Baronial
pot luck meets.
After a discussion about how to make pot luck meets more interesting
there was a suggestion of having them themed every two months or so.
For example Ottoman, Roman, Renaissance etc. We would be interested in
knowing peoples opinion on this.
Also as Pot Lucks are technically mini events, we need stewards. There
is not much to be done just general over- seeing, collecting money,
signing off etc. If anyone is extra keen on stewarding the first one
of the year please let us know and we will give more details.
Otherwise volunteers for future pot luck meets, if they happen would
be great!
It was also brought to our attention that some people didn’t attend
Pot luck meets because they were intimidated by what they thought the
format was. Basically, bring a plate of food and a gold coin donation.
Then put it on the buffet style bench. Have some and try some of the
many other interesting, different dishes. Add in a little dancing,
singing, storytelling and catching up with other Politarchopolins
monthly and Voila, Pot luck meet!
