Where: Kitane and Alesia’s house, same as last time. Ring 0420203331
for location/if you get lost

When: 1.30pm-4.30 pm 19th of March 2011

What: Continuation of War Training

3rd time is a tradition! War practice keeps getting bigger and better
with about 16 heavies and 6 lights
showing up at the last war training plus others including marshalls
and chirgeons. Again, there will be
loaner gear.

It was announced at the Feast of St Valentine that Politarchopolis and
Rowany are at War.
As such we will be meeting on the field of battle at Rowany Festival.
The Missive that was read out is below.
Come and join us at war training and then come and join us on the
field of battle at Rowany festival to protect
and uphold the fair and beautiful lands of Politarchopolis.

After this next war training , pending clashes we are looking at a
last War training before festival on the 9th of April which will
literally be two weeks before festival.

Aonghus and Ginevra
Baron & Baroness of Politarchopolis

The Barony of Politarchopolis has recently suffered attacks from
across it’s borders by vicous ” bandits” intent on plundering our Fair
In response to these savage attacks we have started to train our local
forces to deal with unwanted incursions.

Our need and preparations to defend ourselves, and our good populace,
has been taken as aggression and expansionism by the warlike Barony
of Rowany. A slighting message was sent to us via missives demanding,
nay commanding, us to stand our forces down. To concede to this
ungracious command would leave our
populace open to the predations of these foul and villanous “bandits”

As Baron and Baroness of Politarchopolis, we swore fealty to the crown
to defend the people and lands of Politarchopolis and see to their

We cannot, in good conscience, stand our forces down. If this draws
the wrath of the warmongering Rowanites, then so be it.

We since recieved a missive from Rowany declaring War.

more training and fun!

Politarchopolis Equestrian Gathering

When: 5 February 2011 at 9am (before war training)
Where: Ciel Rocheux, Wamboin (Alesia & Kitan’s Place) – call or email for the address

Do you like horses? Have you got horses and want to try something fun and slightly different? Have you ever imagined yourself astride a destrier facing up to a skill at arms course?

At this training we’ll be doing some riding and some mounted games. You don’t need to have your own horse and are welcome to come along no matter what your skill level is, but please be aware that this wont be a ‘how to ride’ session and you may or may not be able to ride on the day. If you do have your own horse there is room to park floats and some stables and paddocks available too. There is plenty for those on the ground to do too, so if you don’t want to ride or can’t on the day, still come along.

This will happen before the baronial war training and there will be a BBQ lunch between.

For more information please contact Alesia at If you are on Facebook, find the group Politarchopolis Equestrian which will have the information on it too.

Pot Luck Meetings. First one of the Year: 6/2/11

Greetings all,

Baronial Sunday is coming up on the 6th of February as usual.

Not so usual will be a gold coin donation.

The hire of the hall is $50 from 2-6pm. Every extra hour is $10.
Estimating that Pot luck will be from 6-8pm it will cost us $20 extra,
and hopefully gold coin donation will cover that. This will be on top
of patronage/ $5 for the day.

Cover for this extra time will not be coming from the baronial coffers
so if not met nor successful we may have to re-think having Baronial
pot luck meets.

After a discussion about how to make pot luck meets more interesting
there was a suggestion of having them themed every two months or so.
For example Ottoman, Roman, Renaissance etc. We would be interested in
knowing peoples opinion on this.

Also as Pot Lucks are technically mini events, we need stewards. There
is not much to be done just general over- seeing, collecting money,
signing off etc. If anyone is extra keen on stewarding the first one
of the year please let us know and we will give more details.
Otherwise volunteers for future pot luck meets, if they happen would
be great!

It was also brought to our attention that some people didn’t attend
Pot luck meets because they were intimidated by what they thought the
format was. Basically, bring a plate of food and a gold coin donation.
Then put it on the buffet style bench. Have some and try some of the
many other interesting, different dishes. Add in a little dancing,
singing, storytelling and catching up with other Politarchopolins
monthly and Voila, Pot luck meet!

War Training Update

The sound of war drums in the distance is getting closer and as such
we believe that it is time to start up war practice again including
heavy fighting, banner bearers and combat archers. There is much
interest in combat archery, so come check it out and hopefully there
will be some authorising dates and workshops to gear everyone out for
Festival afterwards.

We would like to have our first War training on Saturday the 8th of
January from 10 to 12. Message us for the address and there
will be a bbq afterwards for those so inclined.

We plan on making war practice a once a month gathering and there are
two other locations that may be used in the future as well as this

Who is interested in attending war practice and/or fighting in the
baronial war unit? Send us a mail, text; let us know if we can pop
down your name for it and/or let us know if you are coming.

Suggestions, questions etc for war practice are more than welcome.

Baronial Sunday 5/12/2010

Baronial Sunday and the Potluck feast today was lovely. The various meals
were delicious, the entertainment, great and the dancing, fun! Thank
you to all for setting up, being there and cleaning up afterwards.

The next baronial Sunday falls on January the second, so January will most
likely not have one, though we definitely hope to have baronial
Sunday happening in February albeit at a different location.
