The Barony will be providing the entertainment for the Magna Carta Medieval Fest, held at the Museum of Australian Democracy (Old Parliament House). This is a show being put on by the Society for the general public, rather than a group event.
Members will be demonstrating a range of the Society’s arts and sciences, and participating in light and heavy combat. The Museum staff will also be participating in the celebration of the 800th anniversary of the signing of the Magna Carta.
The show will run from 10am to 3pm on Monday 8 June 2015, which is the Queen’s Birthday public holiday in the ACT and NSW. Members who will be participating in the morning should try to arrive at 9. There will be a green room for us to leave personal items, with tea and coffee making facilities
We are going to set up most of our display at 5pm on the Sunday before, and anyone with bulky or heavy equipment should plan to assist with set up, or provide it in advance for transport to the Museum.
It is very, very important to remember that it is a heritage listed museum we are working in – wood items will need to be inspected for pests prior to them being brought in.
