Unto the Barony of Politarchopolis and its Cantons do I, Miriam, send you greetings!
Time moves on, and the nomination time period is now open. Please be aware that the date for the closure of the nomination period is January 26th. You may also be wondering what the dates are for the whole Succession plan are. They are at the bottom of this missive. If anything changes, an announcement will be done asap to advise.
You may also be wondering how to write a nomination application! Set your minds to rest, for what should be in the letter are the SCA and Mundane names of persons applying, contact information (including a telephone number), the group in which they reside (however they do not need to reside within the boundary of the group to be suitable), and acceptance to maintain membership for their entire term if selected.
Please advise if any of your application can be published, but the Crown would like letters of intent for publishing after successful nominations, to be put on the website & shared around the social media groups. These may have details of what their priorities are, or a vision of what they would do if they held the office, and any relevant experience from both within the organisation and from outside.
Please email Their Majesties Kitan and Alesia of Lochac on crown@lochac.sca.org and cc me in on miriam.staples@gmail.com too!

Baronial Succession Co-ordinator
Sent 3/12/24-
Greetings unto the Good Populace of the Barony of Politarchopolis!
I am TH Baroness Miriam bat Shimeon, and it is an honour to be the co-ordinator of your Baronial Succession process.
Some of you may know me (as I have travelled to your fine Barony and enjoyed its hospitality!) but let me introduce myself quickly. I have now been in the SCA for 30 years, having served many Baronial roles (including Stormhold Baroness), as the Kingdom Social Media Officer and I am a member of the Orders of the Laurel and Pelican.
The nomination time will open on the 15th of December. Please read the requirements as found in Corpora- https://www.sca.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/govdocs.pdf and the Lochac Laws- https://seneschal.lochac.sca.org/laws-of-lochac-2/ plus there are many documents and resources on this Lochac Baronage Page- https://baronage.lochac.sca.org/resources/. The legal requirements of applicants are that it can be an individual or couple that maintain their membership throughout their tenure. It is a privilege to represent the Royalty to your Barony and is a great honour to represent the populace of the Barony to the Royalty. It is a long term leadership role that is not without its rewards.
I will be announcing the opening of the nomination period soon, but I am happy to discuss any questions that will arise by email on miriam.staples@gmail.com. Their Excellencies Baron Ysambart Courtain and Baroness Joie Tigre d’Argentona are also making themselves available for interested parties to ask questions. Speak to your family, speak to your friends, speak to your Peers, consider what your Barony needs.
The time period will be extended a little, as it is a busy time of year and the Divest/Invest is planned to be at the 30th Anniversary event (mid 2025) of your gracious Barony. A timetable will be published when the nomination period opens on December 15th.
Yours in service,
Miriam bat Shimeon
