May Coronation A.S. LVIII (May 2023)

*However, while the event is booked out in a general way, if the weather on Saturday is good (ie not wet, not windy) we’ll have off-board daytime tickets for Saturday available at the gate as the daytime activities will be outside. Archery on Sunday is not limited since it is entirely outdoors.

Come join the celebrations of the coronation of the 42nd Crown of
Lochac, with Heavy, Rapier, Archery, Arts and Sciences, Court and
Feasting. 

When: Saturday 6th – Sunday 7th May 2023 (ASLVIII)

Locations:

  • Saturday 11am to 11pm – St John’s Church Hall, 45 Constitution Ave Reid ACT
  • Sunday 10am to 3pm – Ainslie Scout Hall, Corner of Hassall and Ebden Streets, Ainslie ACT;
  • Sunday Morning Archery – 10am to 12pm: Tuggeranong Archery Club, Soward Way, Tuggeranong ACT

Where to stay: If you are travelling from elsewhere in Lochac, you might arrange to stay with a local person. If you don’t already know someone please ask for billeting when booking or contact the Steward. Otherwise we recommend staying in one of the fine hotels in the Civic / Braddon / Reid / Ainslie area of Canberra. Here are some recommendations.

Included with booking payment: Saturday lunch, Saturday feast, Sunday lunch,

  • 11:00am – Market stalls throughout the day – Kingdom A&S entries accepted
  • 11:30am – Final court of Their Majesties Thibault and Jayne
  • 12:30pm – Lunch – menu, Kingdom Arts & Sciences Competition judging begins
  • 1:30pm – Coronation court
  • 2:30pm – Armoured Tournament: round robin OR single kill double elimination
  • 2:30pm – Rapier Tournament: The Iron Ring – single kill, triple elimination
  • 2:30pm – Kats & Rats – Arts & Sciences Competition – entries accepted
  • 3:00pm – Dancing on the deck
  • 5:00pm – Feast opens – menu
  • 5:30pm – A Play: Rogero and Janniet
  • 5:45pm – Royal Welcome
  • 6:00pm – First course
  • 6:30pm – First court of Their Majesties Radbot and katherine

What to wear:
Please wear an attempt at pre-17th century clothing. If you need help with clothing, contact the hospitaller to organise loaner garb.
